Denver, CO is one of the fastest-growing cities in America today. With beautiful, sunny skies and a short trip to the Rocky Mountains, it’s no wonder that more people are choosing to make Denver home. But if you’re just getting into town, it might be a little hard to know exactly how to enjoy yourself. Here are five things to do when you arrive to get your adventure in the Mile High city started.
Enjoy a Float Down Clear Creek
In the summertime, Colorado isn’t usually the best place for getting wet. There aren’t that many swimming holes to go around. Heading up to the mountains will show you some great spots for whitewater rafting, but if you want to stay a little closer to home, your best bet is to head over to Golden with an inner tube and enjoy the Clear Creek White Water Park.
The water is cold, and the season is short, but this is a great place to have some fun with the whole family. You can use an inner tube, or a raft if you’d like, but some more experienced people like to use this as a great practice spot for kayaking as well. No matter what you choose, you’ll have a great time. Your trip will end at the famous Coors brewery, and you’ll find yourself right in the middle of downtown Golden, where there are plenty of places to grab food and explore.
Tour the Nightlife
If you’re more a fan of dancing and music, Denver has a lively night scene. You’ll find plenty of bars and clubs in Lower Downtown (LoDo), and it’s easy to find a great show. For a party that just keeps going, you can rent a party bus from Limos of Denver. Whether you choose a bus to get you around in style, or just hop from bar to bar on foot, you won’t be disappointed.
The most notable night club in Denver is Beta Nightclub, which has a massive sound system and a fantastic laser light show. It has been named one of the best dance clubs in North America.
See a Concert at Red Rocks
The famous Red Rocks amphitheater is known all over the world. It’s brilliant acoustics, spectacular natural features, and beautiful view of Denver have drawn performers and spectators from all over the world for decades. With a full roster of performances every summer, you’re sure to find something you love. Even if you don’t, any Denverite will tell you that it doesn’t matter who you’re seeing. The experience is still worthwhile. Be sure to arrive early and enjoy a hike around the rocks.
