Held in late April to early May, the Shenandoah Apple Blossom festival has been running for more than a century. Taking place in Winchester each year and attracting more than 250,000 visitors annually, this festival hosts a variety of events, including a 10K race.
Virginia Beach is home to the East Coast Surfing Championships, which are hosted each year in late August and attract top surfing talent to compete for prizes and renown.
