hello Rick here with Colonial Van Lines

University the official training center

of facility of colonial Van Lines

Welcome to our Channel where we will

provide specialized training for our

moving professionals today we’re going

to train you how to prepare a triple

dresser

and we’ll also train you how to diaper

wrap a chair using one pad and one

rubber band so let’s get to it

[Music]

okay folks now what we’re going to show

you is a quick and easy and cost

effective way

to diaper wrap a chair

so what we use is one pad again the

light side of the pad is towards the

furniture that is the clean side of the

pad and we use one rubber band not a

single roll of tape in the in the scene

no stretch wrap nothing so rich is going

to show you how we diaper wrap this

chair properly so what you do is you

take the top corner you run your chair

corner to corner you take the top corner

and you fold it down to where it meets

the seat of the chair you take either

side

and you fold it in over top of the chair

tucking it in a little bit go to the

other side

you raise that corner up and you tuck

that in

so as you can see there’s plenty of pad

here that’s going to protect the bottom

of the legs of furniture nothing worse

than seeing a chair that’s very well

protected on top but the legs are

sticking out and rubbing against the

side of the truck so then what Richard

will do is he’ll pull that tab up but

he’ll make sure that the excess is

tucked inside the void on the bottom of

the chair so then what you do

if you take your rubber band

about 12 inches apart you stretch it out

you hook one

side on one leg over the top to the

bottom

and then Rich is going to grab it and

he’s going to keep that tension on and

he’s going to crisscross it as he goes

up

so then what Richard does is he’ll keep

a lot of tension on this rubber band so

he has a lot of slack and he’s going to

stand the chair up and he’s going to

keep the tension on the rubber band

he’ll crisscross it in the back and fold

the rubber band back over the front of

the chair which grabs the top of the pad

and then you have a chair that is ready

to load on the truck

no tape no stretch wrap none of the

costs that you really don’t have to

absorb I have no tape on this it comes

in at destination hey Mrs customer is

this one your kitchen table chairs yep

sure is all right I’m going to go ahead

and put it down for you

all right guys so we take

the rubber band off

let it fall to the floor

pull your pad off

15 seconds your chair is ready to be put

in place now we’re going to show you how

to wrap a triple dresser using rubber

bands so what we do is we again we’ve

got a light side of the pad we’ve got

the dark side of the pad I always prefer

putting the pad on the piece of

furniture from the front of the piece of

furniture we always want to make sure

that we have sufficient pad at the

bottom of the piece of furniture to

cover the legs so Richard’s going to

show you how to properly make that

corner some people just kind of grab the

pad but if you take it and put it in

your fingers and you roll it out you can

get that pad so it sticks straight out

from there and show them how that’s kind

of sticking straight out from the end

it’s nice and level with the top of that

piece of furniture so when you fold that

back

you’ve got a good corner and you’re you

don’t have a lot of pad that is

gathering so that it kind of gets in the

way when you load your truck so I’m

going to go ahead and make this corner

and we’re going to fold it around

and then Richard’s going to grab a

rubber band handing it to me we’re going

to put the first rubber band on

making sure our pad’s good and tight

and making sure that the front of the

pad is down at the bottom of the leg of

the piece of furniture we’re going to

take the second rubber band

and we’re gonna hold it and pray it

doesn’t break and we’re going to take it

down low

so that holds that

those two pads in place the legs of the

furniture are protected

you can then just go ahead and take it

and put it on your truck so thank you

for learning with Colonial band lines

University today please stay tuned for

many more training videos coming your

way soon
