Colonial Van lines was founded by the Disorbo family, but the story starts in the 1980’s when Mr. Disorbo borrowed $2,000 from his dad and began helping Broward County families move with his truck and limited storage in his garage in Coral Springs, FL. The Colonial Van Lines founder was 21 years old. The moving company innovator opened his first moving company, The Right Move in 1988. After that, the Colonial Van Lines founder is credited with creating the moving company brokerage business by closing the gap between home moving customers and independent movers, whose equipment is often idle and costly.
