Helping Fight Hunger One Move at a Time

Colonial Van Lines, headquartered in South Florida, is proud to be partnered with Move For Hunger, a non-profit that provides hunger relief by delivering unwanted non-perishables to food banks via relocation companies like ours.

Over 42 million Americans struggle to find their next meal. With this in mind, we are truly grateful for the opportunity to utilize our resources to contribute to our community in an impactful way.

Colonial Van Lines is family-owned and operated, and takes pride in providing seamless moving services to more than 12,000 clients each year. With 50+ years of experience, our professionals coordinate and oversee every aspect of long-distance moving.

When you need reliable, cost-effective, and efficient movers from the nation’s top moving company, you can depend on us to do an exceptional job with your move.

How Move For Hunger Works

Families and businesses that are relocating can set aside their unopened, non-perishable items for donation to Colonial Van Lines who will deliver the items to a local shelter in need, at the direction of Move For Hunger™. Crew members from the 501(c)3 non-profit organization will sort through, pack-up and deliver these goods to local food pantries. Items are then distributed to families in need within the local community.

How It All Started

While working in his family’s moving company, Founder, Adam Lowy identified an opportunity to salvage food that moving families typically toss before relocation, and devised a system to get it into the hands of those in need. Since 2009, Move For Hunger has collected over 10 million pounds of non-perishable food items resulting in over 8 million meals for the hungry.
